As part of Esri’s ongoing strategy to focus on modern developer technologies, ArcGIS Engine entered the Mature Support phase on March 1, 2024. No further functionality updates, patches, or hot fixes will be provided.

While the product is being retired, customers with existing perpetual licenses can continue to use the software. Those licensing ArcGIS Engine through ArcGIS Desktop will transition to user types as part of this change.

To ensure continued support and access to the latest developer capabilities, we strongly recommend migrating to one of the following ArcGIS developer products:

  • ArcGIS Maps SDKs for Native Apps—for building desktop and mobile client applications
  • ArcGIS Maps SDK for JavaScript—for web-based applications
  • ArcGIS Maps SDKs for Unity or Unreal Engine—for immersive 3D and XR experiences
  • ArcGIS Pro SDK for .NET—for extending and customizing advanced GIS workflows

You can find detailed migration guidance in the following resources:

If you have questions or would like personalized migration support, please contact your Esri account manager or email ArcGISEngineDeprecation@esri.com.
