I need some help. I am trying to do Near analysis in ArcGIS 10.1.  All my layers are set to GCS_WGS 1984 and my map distance and search radius to kilometers. But when I generate my near table, the values are too small, e.g. 0,05345 kilometers. I've tried setting all distances to meters, but with the same result. How can I fix this so that my distance values make sense?

your distances are in decimal degrees because your coordinates are in decimal degrees

from the help

The distance between the input and near feature. The value is in the linear unit of the input features coordinate system, or Meters when the Method parameter is set to GEODESIC and the input is in a geographic coordinate system. If no near feature is found, the value will be -1.
