I am post processing Terrestrial LiDAR data using RiScan pro and I need to export the data as LAS  for use in Arc 10.1 to create a DEM. When I try to use the LAS to Multipoint the file converts but there is no information in the .shp file that it creates. I know that the LAS has information due to its size (1 scan converted to a LAS is a 520MB file). Can anyone help me with what I might be missing?

Greetings!

At 10.1, ArcGIS reads LAS files natively using LAS dataset. Here is a link to video on Native Support for Lidar in ArcGIS 10.1.

After creating your Las dataset you can use LAS Dataset To Raster tool to create your DEMs.

Here is link on Licensing requirements when working with lidar in ArcGIS.

Hope this will help.
