3D Geometry Editing Issue

I am trying to determine what I might be doing wrong or if anyone else has experienced the geometry issue in the attached image. I have yet to determine what is causing the issue to happen and am looking for guidance.

Software: 

ArcGIS Pro 3.1.1

Workflow:

1. Create new 3D Object V2 feature class. 

2. Create new 3D feature in a local scene.

3. Attempt to edit the features to add additional detail.

Result:

When I edit the 3D feature the geometry changes from the existing created flat surface to the fractured geometry shown in the included image.
