Planning is all about context. Our latest update to ArcGIS Urban brings powerful tools that help planners analyze existing conditions and make smarter, data-driven decisions. This release introduces zoning information in projects, parcel parameter metrics, and an enhanced suitability analysis — three features that introduce a new level of context-awareness to ArcGIS Urban, allowing planners to assess development potential with greater confidence.

1. Evaluate projects against zoning
   Use envelopes in projects to visualize the maximum buildable volumes in 3D and quickly assess whether proposed developments comply with height limits, setbacks, and other regulations.

2. Bring parcel-level data into your metrics
   Import parcel-specific data — such as land value, population, or transit accessibility — and use it in metric calculations for more nuanced, data-driven analysis.

3. Analyze parcel suitability
   Enjoy a redesigned suitability analysis experience with intuitive suitability model creation, full undo/redo support, and background calculations that let you keep working while scores are computed.
