Do tiles need to be hosted on AGOL to be taken offline in collector?

Or can I host them on an external server with the ability to take offline using collector?

Hi Patrick Filyer‌,

You can host a cached map service on-premise. Make sure "Allow Clients to Export Cache Tiles" is checked on when the service is published: Available map and image cache properties—Documentation | Documentation for ArcGIS Enterprise
