Adding utility network data to existing map/app

Hello,

We have an all-in-one viewer app (internal only) for our organization with the majority of the layers anyone would need to see, including our utilities. The data in the app is grouped into categories for easier navigation. What would be the best practice for adding the utility network data to this map? (Enterprise 11.3/Pro 3.5)

• Publishing a map image layer from the sde directly using definition queries to organize the data into the asset groups/types with the symbology/popups we want?
• Adding in the hosted feature layers from the already published service, grouping them, using filters and then trying to set up the symbology/popups in the map viewer?

@TanyaWright1  - The recommended way is to publish the service without any definition queries, custom symbology, etc. 

Once the service is published you can now use it within new/existing maps. 

Since you have a requirement to keep the existing map, I would open the map in ArcGIS Pro and bring in the all the layers need and then symbolize them there. 

Then share using the "Save Web Map" option. This ensures it doesn't create a new map and it will remain linked to any other apps you might be using it in. (adjusting UN symbology in ArcPro is easier than online, maybe a personal preference)

You might need to set up widgets etc in any apps/ExB.

Edit: If you also have custom forms stored within the map, use the "Keep existing forms" option when saving the webmap via Pro.
