Showing an extent indicator on a map (not a layout)

Hi all,

I'd like to be able to see the extent of a map frame in a layout on the actual map itself (Not on layout).

Something like this

Is this possible?

To my knowledge you cannot do this in ArcGIS Pro but there is an ArcGIS Idea closely related to what you're asking. Perhaps vote for it and share it with other so they too may vote for it.

have you tried dynamic text?

To my knowledge, you can't put dynamic text in a map; it's just for layouts.
