Survey123 Form required to be deleted and re downloaded again to push updates

Question

Hi All for the past few months we have noticed a recurring trend where updates to forms are not being automatically updated on devices , the user is being forced to delete the form and re download it completely to register the changes. I have noticed it is affecting the following functionality for definite and I suspect it ha affected other functionality

* CSV Linked content csv not updating until the form is deleted and downloaded despite the notification showing the csv being downloaded 
* CSV in the media folder same as above
* Select multiple list where values have been updated , the list is duplicated and the original values maintained with the new values appended to the dropdown

This is on android devices running the most recent version of the app. I have rasied  the ticket with support re the linked content  but after numerous emails and even screen shares they told me it was expected behavior and they could not raise a bug or provide a solution so they closed the case. Has anyone else being having  this issue?

Hi @PaulSweeney3,

Reserved keywords are not allowed in the NAME column, but are allowed in the LABEL column in both the survey and choices sheet.

Hi Thanks for the response I cannot share the CSV as it is a complete list of our employees names. But I did note that one of the columns is Called Name and according to this info here "NAME" is a reserved word could that be the issue? for the duplication of Select one/multiple lists do reserved words affect the Names and Labels in the choices sheet as well ? if they are used in a label for example this was my original list ELECTRICITY_Controls 1

Hi @PaulSweeney3,

Are you able to share your XLSForm (xlsx file and any files in media folder) so we can try and reproduce the issue?

It sounds as though the SQLite database on the device is not being updated to reflect the new choice list values, even though the linked content CSV is being checked for and downloaded. Can you provide those external linked CSV files also. There could be something in the data or some other cause stopping the update.
