@Peter_ , you are correct that our post installer changed at version 200.4.0. Starting with 200.4.0 it's now a script and will log to $TMPDIR/postInstall.log. The previous version was an application that was invoked by our setup and did not write a log to that location. The script will not create the ${HOME}/.config/QtProject/qtcreator/templates/wizards if it doesn't already exist. We could consider adding that, but it's unclear what might happen if Qt Creator is installed after that point. It may overwrite this location and the templates could be lost. Our script logic is that if ${HOME}/.config/QtProject/qtcreator/templates/wizards does not exist, we assume Qt Creator is not installed and we should not install templates. If this happens, we log the "Could not locate Qt Creator templates folder at..." message you saw above. Sounds like everything is working now. If you think that logic is incorrect, let us know and we can see if it makes sense to update it. It's possible we've made some bad assumptions.

Hi @Peter_. All the specs look good. Here are a few things you can check. The post installer script will write to $TMPDIR/postInstall.log. If you open that up, do you see any problems? It should be logging every action it does along with the success/failure. Our project templates get installed into ~/.config/QtProject/qtcreator/templates/wizards on macOS. Can you check that location to see if they are actually there? Another quirk we run into is that Qt Creator does not pick up new templates on the fly. If Qt Creator was open the whole time, it won't see the new templates until you restart it.

@HunterMorganBell we have fixed this in the upcoming release (200.4.0). Thanks again for reporting the issue to us. Starting next release, you won't need the QSG_RENDER_LOOP workaround anymore.

@HunterMorganBell One of my colleagues did some testing and found that setting this environment variable seems to be a viable workaround. We've not tested it extensively, but see if it works for your purposes. QSG_RENDER_LOOP=basic

Thanks for this info. I'll check with the team to see if there are other ways to accomplish this workflow while we investigate what might be wrong.

@HunterMorganBell , thanks for the additional info. I tried on Linux and I do see what you are seeing now. Two app windows, and it mostly crashes very quickly. I will check with our team on this, but I suspect this is not the preferred way to create multiple app windows with Qt. It's suspicious that on macOS you only get a single app window with the same code. The stack trace shows it's crashing in our rendering code, which isn't too surprising. I will let you know what we find, but in the meantime are you able to create multiple app windows some other way?

Hi @HunterMorganBell. I tried your test code and I don't get any crashes with that, but that doesn't seem to replicate the scenario you are mentioning. It's still a single window, so it could be that the first MapView gets hidden behind the second one and remains idle forever. One of my colleagues tried out a small test app we have that displays two scene views, each in their own window. No issues with that in macOS. Can you provide us some more code to try so we can diagnose better? Also, what version of Qt and the Maps SDK do you have? We just released version 200.3.0 a few days ago

Hi @PietroMaps. This falls outside the realm of the Maps SDK logic, but I have some general ideas that may help. If you're using AppStudio, you are likely on Qt 5 still. With Qt 5, Qt does have support for Android background services, see here for details: https://doc.qt.io/qt-5/android-services.html I'm not sure if there's anything specific for iOS that will do the same thing. If you are comfortable writing some C++ code and integrating that into your app, you can likely have a QThread you create run in the background and do any polling and updates that you need. I hope that helps.

Hi @TQGiser. I can't be certain, but the most frequent cause of the "gray screen" problem we run into is when OpenSSL is missing. If you are accessing online services, you may need to check that OpenSSL is deployed with the app. SChannel tls Qt plugin may be sufficient, so I am guessing. If you can get some console output that shows what the problem is, we may be able to better diagnose the issue and help you out. Here are some other things you can try. First, you can check our sample app download and see if you are missing any dlls that we are including. You can also attach Qt Creator debugger on the machine that works and see where it is loading all the Qt dlls from. It is possible some are being found in other locations and those are the ones that need to be deployed with the app. Here's our sample app download for Windows with our latest release (200.2.0). It should give you an idea of what dlls we deploy. https://www.arcgis.com/home/item.html?id=c78d9ccabc5a4dcf9b74c11f55c7a279

Hi @JustinSteventon , I have some info to share, but admittedly I am not an expert on our supported raster formats. I recommend taking a look at https://gist.github.com/nixta/9cf3b53e3340dc3314c6db40af06c709 You may need more than just the world files for those formats. You may also need auxiliary files as well. https://pro.arcgis.com/en/pro-app/latest/help/data/imagery/auxiliary-files.htm
