Highly available ArcGIS Server Fedarted with Portal using ADFS for Authentication

We are going to install Arcgis 10.5 Highly Available Portal/Server/Datastore. ArcGIS site will be federated with ArcgIS portal. For authentication we will be using ADFS. WE have also Hardware Network load balancer

Now my question is do we need web adapter at ArcGIS Portal.?

You don't need the web adaptor if you're using ADFS.  You'll only need the web adaptor if you want to use IWA.  You can take a look at the deployment strategies page for more information.
