Are you working with the time slider in the Map Viewer?

I believe we have an enhancement for the functionality you're looking for - let me know and I can help attach your customer # to it: ENH-000097973: Provide functionality to step through dates within the feature's data using the time slider in a Web Map, as opposed to a specific time interval.
