I'm experiencing a similar issue with a feature service published to 10.9.1 standalone ArcGIS Server referencing SDE data (also 10.9.1) that I'm then consuming in AGOL; all of the codes display rather than the descriptions. Is this expected behavior? Is there a setting somewhere that I'm missing to display the descriptions? Arcade works fine to adjust these in the map viewer for example, but Experience Builder Dev Ed widgets show the codes which is a deal breaker for me. Any insights are much appreciated.

Thanks, Dave. That's a great suggestion and more or less achieves what I was hoping to do.

I’m wondering if it’s possible to configure the search widget actions to select a feature from the map widget that the search result (address) is within AND if it’s possible with a custom locator service? So, if you search for an address and it falls within a census tract in your web map, I’d like to be able to configure the search widget to select that census tract that contains the address. Thanks in advance!

Curious if it’s possible to remove certain “classic” apps from Portal 10.9.1 without negatively impacting any existing “classic” apps of that type? E.g. we’d like to dissuade our Portal users from building a “Dashboard Classic” vs using Dashboard by removing the option without impacting an existing classic dashboard app. I’d like to have an option to do the same thing for Map Viewer Classic. I’m aware that it’s possible to set the default to the “new” Map Viewer, formerly Map Viewer Beta, for all users, but then a user can change this in their own setttings. Is it possible to remove the ability for users to revert to defaulting to Map Viewer Classic? Likewise, is all or some of this possible in AGOL?

I too have recently encountered this with the Within fucntion returning a feature set and not a boolean as expected from the documentation: Some input from Esri on this would be much appreciated.

Thanks, Xander Bakker! This is exactly what I’m looking for. We’re using GeoEvent Server to update feature services with vehicle location and path data. I’ll use this to convert a decimal “Status” value to binary on insert using Attribute Rules. This will allow us to extract information from the “Status” value provided by our AVL vendor to determine what vehicles are actually doing, not just where they are, e.g. street sweeping broom up or down (1=Low, 0=High). Per suggestion I’ve included the text and number functions to include leading zeros so we get a complete 16-bit binary number. Thanks again!

I’m interested in using Attribute Rules to calculate a field from decimal to binary on insert. I’m surprised that attribute rules don’t also support using python, but I digress already. My question is has anyone used Arcade to convert from decimal to binary? There doesn’t appear to be an existing bin(), or like in Excel dec2bin(), function in Arcade – is this on the road map for Arcade?

Yup, I'm aware of the fact that story maps require HTTPS services these days, and the services that I've added into a web map in AGO to test (which are coming form the external ArcGIS server in the DMZ) are HTTPS - but they're not visible outside the network. Likely as you note above because of the port forwarding configuration. But exposing 6443 would not be a best practice, thus the web adaptor, correct? For the Hillsboro Maps application the web adaptor is installed for the aerial photo service which is on an internal ArcServer. But it uses other services from the DMZ ArcServer on 6080. I will confirm with network folks that "port forwarding is configured at the router level to forward traffic internally on port 6080, but not 6443". Thanks for the suggestions!

The services used in the Hillsboro Maps application are coming from the external ArcGIS server. That external ArcGIS server is enabled to pass traffic on both HTTP and HTTPS. The services used in the Hillsboro Maps application is using are HTTP at present. With regard to how the traffic flows, can you expand on your question please? Thanks.

This is working externally, because currently the services used in the web maps in the app are hosted on AGO. I would like to replace these with services form the external ArcServer.

No, in Chrome and in Firefox. Don't usually use Edge, so I have not tested outside our network using Edge yet.

I have a story map that is hosted on one of our external web servers here https://maps.hillsboro-oregon.gov/LandUseGallery/index.html; it currently uses AGO-hosted services and I’d like to redirect the web maps used in the app to services from another external web server in the DMZ where we’ve installed ArcGIS Server 10.3.1. On the external ArcGIS Server we’ve enabled SSL and the server has a CA signed cert, and it’s configured to pass traffic on both HTTP and HTTPS. I am able to add secured https services to ArcGIS Online from our external ArcServer, add them to a web map and they’re visible when I’m on our internal network, but the services are not visible outside our network. If I add one to a web map that’s available to everyone when I try to load the web map outside our network it just times out eventually. If I look in the console when viewing the web map on our network I’m getting a 400 error for the service coming from the external ArcServer. I believe the solution to my issue as far as replacing the services in our external story map is to install the web adaptor with our Maps site on our external web server, correct? I’m also wondering if there’s anything additional to be done (configuration in IIS, or?) on the DMZ server where ArcGIS Server is installed?

Thanks, Owen. I appreciate there are lot of styles to modify, but just to clarify though, the only requisite changes necessary are to the styles in the viewer-min.css? Do you know how many styles (and which ones) require modification? Thanks.

I need to change the banner in the light-themed Cascade Story Map to white for organizational style purposes. I've tried modifying the json using AGOL assistant as well as adding custom css in the minified app code. I can get most of the way there, but it doesn't look good. I'm definitely a newb; any help is appreciated! <style> /* CUSTOM CSS RULES */ .story-header, .story-header compact, .logo-title-container, .story-header compact #banner, .story-header #banner { color: #ffffff; background-color: #ffffff; } .linkContainer, .bookmarks, .logo-wrapper { background-color: #ffffff; } .title strong, .bookmarks .navigation { color: #002d72; } </style> json "settings": { "theme": { "colors": { "id": "MyOrgStyle", "label": "Light", "themeMajor": "light", "themeContrast": "light", "bgMain": "#fff", "textMain": "#002d72", "selected": true
