Where do you work and what is your role? My name is Dan Hummel and I work for the Defense MIA/POW Accounting Agency at the University of Wisconsin-Madison as a postdoctoral fellow. What GIS success have you had this year and what product did you use? I am new to GIS and studying if it will be a good fit for helping with my DPAA work, which is primarily using historical research to help identify potential locations for MIA remains from American WWII soldiers. What is your expertise (GIS related or not), and how can that help the community? I am a historian and have watched videos and read on ArcMap. My main goal with using ArcMap is to plot the movement of soldiers over a certain area (focusing on northern Papa New Guinea) using the time lapse function in order to visualize what happened.
