I have started using the Equal Earth projection for some projects. However, in looking at the Domain properties, it is consistently listing a Max Y of 900,711,532,374.10 Meters and a Max X of 900,702,681,374.10 Meters. Is this normal? It seems excessive.

When using data at the global level in ArcGIS Pro, which projection should I use? By default the data frame and global elevation data appear to be WGS 1984 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere. If my data layers are GCS WGS 1984, is the software doing more work to display them than if I converted all the data to WGS 1984 Web Mercator Auxiliary Sphere? If I switched the data frame to use GCS WGS 1984 (same as my data layers), would the software then have to on the fly reproject the internal elevation data?

The high amount of internet/network use does seem to be part of the problem. When I am on an internet connection that is unstable or laggy, ArcGIS Pro becomes almost unusable. This happens even if there are no online layers loaded. It happens even I'm just running a local model and there is nothing at all in the map.

My data are local, although with one basemap loaded. Oddly, things are just as slow to respond when I turn off all the layers and pause all the maps. It still does something every time I interact with the program. It´s almost like it redraws everything regardless of whether the map is paused or the layers turned off.

I like ArcGIS Pro. It is clearly a step forward in many ways. But why is it so slow for what are very simple things that should be nearly instantaneous. For example, if I want to adjust the symbology of something, ever single step causes the program to whir and think for about ten seconds, even when the layer is turned off! What exactly does it have to think about when the layer is not even rendering? Almost every action in the program seems to generate some unknown processing demand. I can understand if the map is updating or a tool is running, but it seems to be for everything. This really drags down productivity and leaves me frustrated. If it wasn´t for this, I´d probably start switching to Pro completely. With all these lags though, it is impossible. None of the data are on the network. Windows 10 machine, 32GB ram, fast video card not even close to maxed out. Most data are on SSD drives.
