Malcolm, You've run into a classic problem with interpolating meteorological data, a small number of sampling locations with a lot of measurements across time. None of the kriging methods in ArcGIS Pro deal with time explicitly. I suspect what is happening is that the Kriging tool is getting all of its neighbors from the same location so it sees very little variation in the data. Do you have access to the Geostatistical Analyst extension? If so, I suggest trying the Empirical Bayesian Kriging tool. It has an environment setting (Coincident Points) that will summarize all of your temporal observations down to a mean value. Five points is not a lot of information to build any interpolation model on. You many need to 'help' the model by providing additional explanatory variables. You can do this with either the EBK Regression Prediction tool or Forest Based Classification and Regression tool. Felipe, I'd recommend ArcGIS Pro for analyzing water column data. There are many ways to look at water column data ... I'll mention a few. You can leverage the charting features of Pro to explore how variables measured in the water column change by depth. For example, Several of the tools in the Spatial Statistics and Space Time Pattern Mining toolboxes can process 3D data directly. The example below is a hot spot analysis (Getis-Ord Gi*) of dissolved oxygen. Using the range slider (far right corner of the screenshot below), you can dynamically select a single depth level from the water column and analyze it with any geoprocessing tool that takes points. Hi, I am trying to convert a raster file to netcdf, but i get a nearly empty netcdf file (about 4k) every time. I basically follow the instruction, really have no idea what i am missing. I appreciate any suggestions. Best, Jian Jian: What type of raster are you attempting to convert to a netCDF file? Also, what version of ArcMap are you using? When using the "Raster to NetCDF" tool, specify the input raster and the Output netCDF file parameters only (the first two parameters). Make sure all other parameters are blank and run the tool.
