Chet, So the changes are being reflected in the new web maps / apps, but the existing ones fail to reflect the most recent symbology changes. Interesting. Have you cleared the browser cache and confirmed this behavior is persistent. I vaguely remember a bug written on a similar behavior on Portal for ArcGIS, but I can't seem to find it. Please let me know if the browser cache has any effect. Additionally, if you change the symbology and add a dummy point (i.e. a random point outside the AOI) and overwrite the service, does the app take the changes? Perhaps modifying the symbology is not enough to force a change in the client. Thanks! Cheers, Andrew

Thanks for the information. To run developer tools in Firefox, click on the three horizontal bars to the right of the Address bar. There you'll see a drop-down of options, with one option for 'Developer.' If you click on that, another list will pop-up -- when that happens, can you click the option for 'Web Console'? That should open up "Developer tools." When it is open, can you then click on the 'Network' tab and then try browsing to your Portal? If there are any errors, they will show up here (hopefully!). Thanks! Cheers, Andrew

Nick, If the client application (Flex viewer) is creating the files, there should be no reason why you couldn't add them directly to your ArcMap map document. For instance, if your .csv has some spatial data, you can add the layer to the map and then 'display X & Y' data. D Are you running into any issues with this workflow? Thanks! Andrew

Mark, Could you capture the network traffic (i.e. run Developer Tools) in Firefox to see what is going on there? Additionally, what type of certificate are you using on your Portal (i.e. Self-Signed, Domain, CA)? Lastly, what version of Firefox and Portal are you working with? Thanks! Andrew

Elizabeth B If you have an ArcGIS Server site, you can also publish a geoprocessing service that buffers polygons and looks for intersections with that buffer. Web App Builder (AGOL, Portal & Dev) all support the geoprocessing widget where these calls can be made. This will also accomplish the workflow you're looking for, it sounds. If you have not worked with this widget before, you can check out the documentation page here: Geoprocessing widget—Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS | ArcGIS Thanks!

Hello Arne, I have a few questions so I can better understand the problem. 1. What version of AGS are you consuming? 2. Are these data hosted on AGS? 3. Where is the data coming from (fgdb, SQL, Oracle, Registered folders, saved to server, etc)? 4. When executing the task, are they using a GET or POST request? 5. Is this is a custom print service? Thanks in advance, Arne! -Andrew

Clement, As Derek pointed out this functionality will be available in the forthcoming release in March 2016 of Web AppBuilder. For a more robust discussion of the changes coming with the release, check out this site: What’s New in Web AppBuilder for ArcGIS (March 2016) | ArcGIS Blog Thanks! Cheers, - Andrew

Mohamed, Do you mind providing the following information? What version of Portal are you using? Have you specified the ObjectID field? Are there joins in your data? Is this behavior consistent through all browsers (IE, Chrome, Firefox, etc)? Does your data have date fields assigned to be 'string' or 'date' fields? Thanks in advance, Mohamed! - Andrew
