How do you get a vector tile layer to show up in the legend? I don't have the option to "show in legend" like I do for other layers. I created my vector tile index, then package, then uploaded to ArcGIS Online. Am I missing something? Corresponding feature layer that has to be included in the upload in some way? I really don't even care about popups or being able to query.

Yeah, I see that for other layers but not this one. Is the lack of corresponding feature layer the problem? If so, would including that cause it to lag badly?

Started upload over from scratch. Seems to work now. Odd. Maybe you could help me with one other thing -- how do you get a vector tile layer to show up in the legend?

I have a story map I'm creating referencing the Hurricane Florence flooding in the Carolinas. Admittedly not as experienced with story maps. I have the 500-year floodplain as a hosted vector tile layer. It shows up fine in the web map, but I can't get it to show up in the story map (map series builder). I'd like to have it as its own tab. I tried moving it to the basemap, too. Still, I can't get it to show up. The feature shapefile is hundreds of megabytes (even dissolved together), so I really need to get it to render quickly in the form of a vector tile if possible, ideally also showing up in the legend. Help! Thank you!

Colorado, Swedish Baltic, Tonle Sap. Actually, I just tried something, and it might have done the trick. I exported and disallowed M and Z values. It seems to work now. I have no idea why only a few were affected given that everything was built from the same two datasets (one for domestic, one for the rest of the world). Odd that there were issues with polygons created from both.

In ArcGIS Online, I have a shapefile of 300 polygon features (drainage basins) around the world. A random few (can't figure out a trend) won't display. They're in the attribute table, but nothing displays on the map at any extent. I tried both uploading the zipped shapefile package as well as sharing to the web from ArcGIS Pro. Same issue. Why is the visual component missing; how do I fix this?!

I do water quality sampling for a non-profit and am currently working with four universities on a large project. We really need to map our data. I have 10 sites. For each site, I sample once per month for multiple parameters. It seemed like the best way to structure this (mapping the sampling sites with data available in the popups) would be to have a feature layer of sampling sites and then to relate a table of data. Each sampling run would be a row (like a feature) and each parameter would be a column (like a field). The site-to-data relationship is a one-to-many. The data is most easily held/shared in Google Spreadsheet. I have tried publishing it as a CSV and adding it as a AGOL feature layer. Then, using ArcGIS Pro, I tried creating a relationship to the data in the hosted CSV, but that did not seem to work. Maybe it's not possible? End goal: I need to be able to click on a sampling site and in the pop-up have data from the most recent sampling run highlighted but also have past data available, be it in a table and/or chart but at the very least in a link. I'm open to other approaches. I really need to manage the data in a spreadsheet outside of ArcGIS. Otherwise, I'm going to be transcribing data at least twice to get it into a spreadsheet and then into a separate attribute table. Jake Skinner, it looked like you had answered a somewhat similar question a year ago, so I wanted to tag you. Allison Muise, I know you have the Mosquito Surveillance Web App, and that could almost do the trick, but I'm again having trouble with the hosted Google Spreadsheet. Plus, what you've done with the Mosquito Surveillance Web App is great and should be a standard, configurable option! If it does not exist as a simple setup, ArcGIS Online really needs a simple setup for sampling in mind where you can click on a site and in a pop-up get past records and summary visuals (e.g., charts) of trends. Thank you!

Kelly, I'd really rather not create additional fields with each sampling. I'd like to be able to simply fill out a form for each sampling site/event and have it populate a table like this: Site Date Nitrogen (mg/L) Phosphorous (mg/L) 1T 1/1/18 0.2 0.1 2T 1/1/18 0.4 0.35 1T 2/1/18 0.15 0.4 2T 2/1/18 0.3 0.7 1T 3/1/18 0.6 1.0 2T 3/1/18 1.1 1.5 The map would have a single point for 1T and for 2T. Upon clicking, a pop-up would show something like the above table or perhaps even a chart of change over time. My ideal is to manage data in a Google Spreadsheet, then have the sampling events at least listed (and perhaps charted or statistically summarized) in a single pop-up (rather than clicking through the pop-up windows for each event/feature). One point, one pop-up compiling multiple features with a common site name. Let me know if there are any other questions. I feel like this must exist somewhere somehow and I'm missing it. I thought of another way to say it after playing with clustering, which I figured might be a pathway to a solution but does not appear to be (yet). Let's say this was achievable through clustering. When clicking on a cluster point that might have clustered three points, I want the pop-up to list out (ideally in a table and/or chart, but I'm open to other options) all the fields for all the features (same Site, multiple sampling events). I might also want summary info (e.g., average), too, but we'll really want to see how data changes over time.

I've looked probably too hard at this point but am sure there must be an easy way to do this. I do a lot of sampling. Our sampling locations are the same. What I would like to display in ArcGIS Online (be it a map or Web App) is a single point where you can click, and in the pop-up is a table of past results for the site. It's almost like collector, but I want to see the history displayed, too. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks!

How do you find out the date of collection for basemap imagery in Pro? Bonus: is there a way to do it via ArcGIS Online, too? Tried Explore tool, looked through metadata and just can't seem to find it.

Ok, figured it out just now. It was kind of backwards. I was able to go off the original Double field (POINT_X). In Python, and the decimal places and preserved characters were in opposite positions from what I thought: '{:6.10}'.format([POINT_X]) Still seems inefficient, and something is off with the Round() function I'd still be curious to figure out, but at least it works. Thank you!

Tried this in Python for the label, and it didn't work. Not sure what I'm missing. Is that truly all (with POINT_X replacing 81.39291999999) that should be needed?

For points, I added some geometry fields (POINT_X and POINT_Y as automatically generated), which were created as Double type. I want them to display as my label (e.g., "35.596821, -81.235600"). I went to the numeric formatting and changed to 6 as that's the number of decimal places I want. For some (not all; most are fine), there is infinite repeat (e.g., "-81.39291999999999"). Here is my label code: Round($feature.POINT_Y, 6) + ", " + Round($feature.POINT_X, 6) I've played around with the field calculator, even trying to create new fields and convert to different types, but that's not working. HELP!!!
