Hi Greg - Gordon provides great advice. I also want to get this in front of @SeanMorrish and @CodyBenkelman to get their feedback. We are making major changes to the Catalog Layer capability, so maybe that will help. It was my understanding that the Catalog Layer should work kind of like a Mosaic Dataset for SLPKs, but best to confirm with the experts

I see that Jeremy Pollard from Aerometrex just joined the group, so I thought people might like to see some ArcGIS Reality results from their 2.5 cm imagery. They provided this imagery of San Diego to Esri as a test sample for last year's UC. It was flown right before the conference, and the results were stunning! I especially love flying into the iconic San Diego railroad station with all the classic detail. Even the palm trees look great.

Esri's Training Team has released a new Imagery Change Detection Learning Lab. This lab is free to use by everyone, and is designed to teach participants on the use of imagery analysis tools in the Image Analyst Extension. The training example is detecting changes to mangroves using Landsat 8 imagery. All the data you need to work the lab is available for download. The lab is a great way to familiarize yourself with the remote sensing capabilities of ArcGIS.
