Where do you work and what is your role? Hi, I'm Hans, working as a GIS engineer at the local municipality of Växjö, Sweden, soon 100 000 inhabitants and growing fast. The role includes being GIS developer, GIS Architect, GIS advisor, GIS administrator, GIS analyst etc, with tasks ranging from ArcSDE administering and publishing services to ArcGIS Online and the local ArcGIS Portal to network anlysis and developing web maps using Web App Builder Developer edition as well as customizing ArcMap through python addins using both python and FME as a python subprocess. Have some 17 years of professional GIS experience, 7 of these as a GIS consultant/project manager for large GIS projects. What GIS success have you had this year and what product did you use? Developing a FME schema to automatically create LOD0, LOD 1, LOD 2 and LOD 2.5 (=not including all details of LOD 3, but LOD 2 plus correct roof structures including correct eaves and larger on-roof structures) from ESPA-mapped roof surfaces, DEM lidar data, 2D-building footprints and the building id point data, and saving these to the SDE with correct relationship info. This has been implemented as ArcMap buttons through python addins. What is your expertise (GIS related or not), and how can that help the community? FME and python (arcpy) developer, automizing tasks for the benefit of other GIS users or the inhabitants through e-services.
