I totally agree. The editing functionality for polygons and lines is very basic. Please enhance the editing functionality of the Collector app, by adding tools such as splitting lines and polygons or move features. That would greatly improve this application.
This is a must have-functionality. Its impossible to do mapping that cover the whole area without the cut-option. An alternative could be "Autocomplete polygon", but I guess thats more difficult to implement.
Being able to select a feature and select a "split/cut by trail" option where you can then stream your way along or tap a line onto the screen would make life sooooooooo much better.
I see this as a logical step forward for Data Collectors. It would improve workflows based on field data collection enormously. It would need to have an offline capability and have different methods for entering the cutting line - follow the GPS, manual polyline drawing etc.
Very important for us. Would like to be able to set certain layers to only be able to cut and not be able to draw features as well. So no new overlapping features are created.
The line editing functionality is very basic and needs general improvement. Being able to cut lines would be an extremely helpful editing tool for geologic mapping.
