Provide a way to transfer items between ArcGIS Online subscriptions

Provide a workflow to directly transfer web maps and web applications between ArcGIS Online accounts.
Background:
We have worked with various ArcGIS Online personal accounts. There different users created web maps and web applications. We now want to consolidate this content in our ArcGIS Online for Organizations subscription. But there is no way to directly transfer web maps and web applications,

I would check out Admin Tools for ArcGIS Online on the Marketplace to do this. There is a tool in there that will let you export to JSON to your local machine then you can login into the other Org account and use the Import from JSON tool in the app to bring everything in. Let me know if you need any help with this.

We have classes that participate in "immersive learning" projects or service projects, where the deliverables of their academic work needs to be transferred to another organization.  We also have faculty that would like to take their items (research) with them.  There should be a simple process within ArcGIS Online to do this.  The tool in github referenced above is depreciated.  Please provide a workflow / best practice for transferring items to another organization.  Input from Esri has ranged from use a collaboration, to don't use a collaboration because they are messy and just use a group.  Please provide authoritative documentation for the best practice for transferring items to another organization or a subscription outside an organization.
