Per the original discussion at https://geonet.esri.com/message/670636-re-change-default-sort-order-of-open-data-site?commentID=6706... , it would be very useful to be able to control / configure the default sort order of results on ArcGIS Open Data sites.   It defaults to 'Relevance' which, surprisingly, isn't always the most relevant!

For example, we have federated some other ArcGIS Open Data providers into our site, and it would be nice to have results grouped by provider, and then alphabetically.  It would certainly make the results seem less random for our users.

I agree that it would be nice to be able to sort the results of a category search in alphabetical, date, or reverse alphabetical order without writing extra code.  We have orthophotography and would like to sort by the file name in reverse so that the most recent imagery is at the top.  For all the other Data Categories we would prefer the results to be shown in alphabetical order by default.  If the data sort method can't be set for each individual data category, then if we could set the default sorting order for our entire open data that would be helpful.  Right now the results seem very random.

We at Washington Department of Natural Resources would also like to have results in Open Data Sorted Alphabetically.  In some case we have a long list of document links in an Open Data access Group.

It would be good to have the Open Data list sorted in the same order as the Group, where the sort order can be controlled.
