In Forma:
Greetings from NZ. So back at college and looking at Forma. Used my educational licence to log into my educational Autodesk licence and got the same issue as the tread above. The layers come through in monochrome. I checked the data through AGOL and they have colour and linetypes. This is not really a game cahmger as I see huge potential for this application and integration, but curious to know if I'm doing something wrong.
Hi @CT_GIS, thanks for your message! There are a few reasons why colors may not display correctly on imported layers, but the most common one is this:
When importing GIS layers into Forma using the ArcGIS extension, you can choose from four import types — Generic, Roads, Buildings, or Boundaries. Only the Generic import preserves the original colors from ArcGIS Online. If a layer is imported as Roads, Buildings, or Boundaries, Forma applies its native styles instead. From your screenshot, the layer was imported as Buildings, so its ArcGIS Online colors aren’t retained. For zoning or land use layers, import as Generic to keep the original styling.
Also, make sure the layer’s polygons styling uses basic shapes symbols rather than vector symbols, as only basic styles are currently supported for color display in Forma.
You can read more about the styling limitations in this Existing Known Limitations post.
