Hello!
My team has set up StreetMap Premium as a locator for our 11.4 portal. Its working, but we are looking to restrict it to one state to improve performance. I've found articles about locator views for ArcGIS Online:
How To: Limit Geocoding Results to a Specific Area
Customize your Geocoding experience with Locator Views
Is there a similar option for Enterprise?
Hi @MBocek, I haven't tried yet, but I believe you can based on this document https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/11.4/use/create-locator.htm#:~:text=Create%20a%20locator%20view%20from%20the%20ArcGIS%20Geocoding%20service%E2%80%94Choose%20this%20option%20to%20create%20a%20locator%20view.
Hope this answers your question!
Hello Lenna,
Thank you for the reply! It doesn't look like I can because we use web-tier authentication, boo.
My organization is in 11.3 and as per the documentation, it should be possible to create locator views: https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/11.3/use/create-locator.htm
However, when I follow the instructions in the documentation and got to Add Item > Locators, there is no option to create a view, just to add a service by URL. Has anyone else run into this?
FYI, we had to configure the ArcGIS World Geocoding Service for ArcGIS Enterprise (not simply add it as a locator in the Utility Service). I had misunderstood the documentation before. Once we added it via ArcGIS Online, we were able to add a custom Locator view for our organization.
See instructions at https://enterprise.arcgis.com/en/portal/latest/administer/windows/configure-portal-to-geocode-addresses.htm
Do you know if that workflow could be replicated with StreetMap Premium? We do not want to open credit usage to our whole organization.
