Perhaps a button that removes all the filters set from left panel or widgets, instead of having to turn off all the filters one by one.
Yes! Being able to clear all filters with a single click would be great.
This would be incredible helpful!
great idea!
This would help a ton! Probably the most important improvement needed in the operations dashboard! (Also would be useful for the filter and query widgets in Web AppBuilder)
I came upon this by googling "arcgis operations dashboard clear all filters", since I was hoping to be able to achieve such a thing. Guess that isn't possible yet. =[
Please introduce this functionality!!!
It would be good if we get this functionality implemented in dashboard ASAP
This would be very helpful. I have created a Dashboard that filters down to the project on the map, but there is no way to get back out of the rabbit hole (filter) that I have set for the user. Either Clear Filter functionality or a Back button would really help make this a good user experience. Thanks!!
Definitely interested in this one too, frequently get lost in my rabbit hole and have to hit F5 to get back to the beginning
I think this idea is a no-brainer. This would be especially useful for complex filter sets and/or multi selection filters with many categories. Sometimes with a long drop down list with multi-selection enabled it can be difficult to find the one last filter category out of dozens that is still selected. Could possibly be configurable to either only clear filters from the left panel (or top bar) filter sets or to clear all filters including selections from a bar graph/pie chart/etc.
Obviously this would be great and hopefully it'll be coming soon, but has anyone found a workaround for the time being?
I've been working on this all morning and wanted to report back on something that "works" (at least in my app) with 2 clicks. Not ideal, but it's quicker than a total page refresh.
I made another Category Selector and set it up like so:
In the actions, I set a target to every filter in the dashboard and picked any field. When the user hits CLEAR, it kills all of the filters, then you need to hit REFRESH to repopulate the filters back to their initial state of "None."
This would be a very useful feature, and is constantly asked about by our users...
Thanks for this idea! Since the "clear all filters" is still in consideration, I'm using this to clear filters for now.
Please create this functionality. This feature is too valuable not to have accessible for our users. There is obvious demand based on the voting and comments.
Please do! it will help massively, also a better way to reset sliders, please
Would be a huge impact if ESRI implemented this. Approximately 60 users at my organization would benefit from it plus another 50 users in the other organization I support. 110 plus end users benefit from me alone. I would imagine the cumulative effect across those in other orgs would be in the 10s of thousands if this were implemented!!!!
Very helpful, thank you
this needs to include the date filter as well when it's implemented
Please implement this soon. Competing analytics products have had a feature like this, which I consider very basic, for the past 5+ years. Thank you
Here is the work around:
- Apply/Configure the filters to change on Map Extent Change event on Map component of Dashboard
- In web Map, Set the Book mark to No Features land (Name the Book mark as "Clear Filter")
- In Web Map, create another bookmark to whole world extent (Name the bookmark as "Reset Filter")
- Then all the filters will be back to initial state i.e., loaded with all values.
Thank you @Anonymous User! This is working for me as a workaround until ESRI implements. This feature was requested by a dashboard/tableau user who is accustomed to getting too far down the filter rabbit hole and finding it cumbersome to have to manually get back out again.
What's the status on this? It's been at least three years. It's still a highly desired feature and should not be difficult to implement.
Any movement on this one yet?
Would LOVE this feature.
Thank you @Anonymous User for sharing that workaround! Definitely helpful as we await for Esri to implement it.
Thanks from me as well @Anonymous User for your workaround!!
As all have said, @Anonymous User thank you for the workaround! However how do you get it to work with a Date Selector? Thank you again! @myesri we need this functionality!
This is great @Anonymous User , this idea! Since the "clear all filters" is still in consideration, I'm using this to clear filters for now.
I wish the workaround that you made @Anonymous User would work for me, but unfortunately it is not. I'll keep fiddling with the parameters and see if I can get it to work.
YES ESRI, please implement this request
@Anonymous UserThat workaround seemed promising. Unfortunately, when I went to use it, it cleared out all the data from the targeted selectors. Obviously, that's not desirable, haha. If ESRI could create this function, it would be SUPER helpful!
A new setting to allow dashboard reset was added as part of the November 2022 update of ArcGIS Online. All things remaining equal, it will be picked up by ArcGIS Enterprise 11.1.
Any news on this ?
@patrickb and ESRI thank you for adding the reset button.
