Public Surveys

Question

This is a pretty interesting App, it is flexible enough to have many potential uses.  The main issue I see is access, as I understand anyone who wants to complete a survey needs to have an AGO sign in.  A survey's main purpose is to collect large amounts of data and organize it for easy analysis.  Requiring a sign in kinda defeats that purpose as users are not going to get an AGO license to just fill out a survey.  What are the plans to make public surveys to non AGO respondents?  Even if you created a paid version it might make this a more usable app with larger access.

Thanks, yeah there are various other apps I have played with from ESRI but this is the first one that gives you the logic needed to make it useful.  I don't have an immediate need I just like to learn all the new tools so when a project comes up I can pick the easiest solution.  Mainly I develop collector apps but this is a viable alternative and a little quicker to setup.  Now if Collector could build in logic then it would be the ultimate tool.  Depending on our projects I try to use an ESRI out of the box solution first and then if the need grows we have our developers go into a custom app.  I have a few other questions but will post separate.

Hi Ron,

supporting public surveys is something that we have in mind for an upcoming release. We still need to do some work before we can go after that.  In the mean time, here are some alternatives that may work for you:

* The Crowdsource Reporter is a configurable responsive web application published under ArcGIS for Local Government solution site. It does not work offline and does not incorporate logic in the forms, but it may be an option for you. Combined with the Crowdsource Manager it may be an interesting choice.
* The GeoForm is a similar offering: configurable responsive web app.
* AppStudio for ArcGIS has a crowdsourcing configurable app called Quick Report.  Does not feature logic in forms but runs natively in phones and tablets. You can brand your own and publish it to the app stores.
