Creating and Designing a dash board

Question

I would like to build a dashboard to help keep track of Utility features in the field. Incorporating web maps is my first idea in designing one of these. I have never built a dashboard and would like to have a reference or tutorial to follow on how to do this. Can anyone provide me with some helpful links on where to start to build one.

I personally like the Dashboard blogs. I've gotten a whole bunch of great tips from there.
