Portal For ArcGIS 10.3 where to install

Where would the best place be to install Portal for ArcGIS?

On a web server machine such as IIS on Windows server?

On the ArcGIS for Server Machine itself?

On it's own machine?

I want to use this product but setup is looking a little involving.
