Is there any way to publish a service with two data sources on a single layer?

The problem is: How to display a different geometry data according the scale? The problem is about display a distinct geometry type not about the symbology of the layer.

Is there any way to do this?

I'd like to show a different geometry on a different scale in an application. But I would not want to do this within the application source.

It's like changing a symbology on a different scale, but using a scale instead.

No. A feature layer can be of only one geometry type. You can't have a feature layer showing multiple types of geometry such as polygons and polylines or points.

what is the exact use case that you are trying to solve?
