Can Site Scan “Share to ArcGIS” Publish Directly to Image Server?

Is it possible to configure the “Share to ArcGIS” option in Site Scan to publish directly to an ArcGIS Image Server (as a referenced image service) instead of creating hosted layers?

I’m looking to understand whether:

- Site Scan can target Image Server specifically during the share/publish process
- There’s any API or configuration that controls this behavior
- Or if the current workflow is limited to hosted imagery and requires a separate manual or scripted step to publish to Image Server

If this isn’t supported, has anyone implemented a workaround (e.g., automation or scripting) to push Site Scan outputs directly into Image Server instead of using ArcPro?

I'm a big fan of the by-reference publishing pattern with Image Server. There is not a way to do this directly from Site Scan. If you're operating your Image Server in either AWS or on prem you might be interested in this github repo https://github.com/dkwright/arcgis-sitescan-imageserver

Through a Site Scan custom subscription and API key, it automates the process of loading a feature service with project and mission info from Site Scan. Setting the action attribute value to 'copy' for a mission indicates that mission should be included in the service. Any other value and the mission is not included. It supports time-enabled organization-wide image services for Site Scan orthomosaics, DSM, and DTM.

I'm working on a blog to introduce this but wanted you to know about it in case you need to act sooner.
