ArcGIS Data Store Restore Error

Hi Team,

I am facing an issue while restoring the ArcGIS Data Store (relational) backup to another machine.

Issue:  When running the restoredatastore command on the new machine, I receive the following error:

"Backup location is not owned by the current data store."

I have taken a backup of the relational data store from one VM and I am trying to restore it on another ArcGIS Data Store VM.

VM name:machine1@xyz.com

ArcGIS Data Store version: 11.5

Backup command used:backupdatastore --store relational --output-location "<backup folder path>"

Target 

Machine name: machine1@xyz.com (outside domain)

• ArcGIS Data Store version:11.5

• Restore command used:restoredatastore --store relational --source-loc "<backup folder path>" --data-dir "<data store path>" --server-url "<https://newserver:6443>" --server-admin <user> --server-password <password>

Hi @Kristofer,

1.  Do you have the agsds_backup_sig file in the directory you have specified for --source-loc?

 

2.  Did you configure the Data Store with ArcGIS Server, and now you are trying to restore the backup?

If you already configured the Data Store with ArcGIS Server, unregister the Data Store from ArcGIS Server Manager and try the restore again.  Below is a video on restoring the relational data store:
