Topo to Raster Stream Input

I was wondering if someone could provide me with a visual example of what a stream input should look like when using the Topo to Raster tool? I have looked up ESRI's explanation for it which is this: 

• TopoStream ([inFeatures,...])

  A line feature class of stream locations. All arcs must be oriented to point downstream. The feature class should only contain single arc streams.

I am just confused what they mean by using single arcs to showcase entire streams. Any help help on clarification would be great. Thanks.

Here's what I've been able to find out about this statement - when the software suggests that "the stream data should be composed of single arcs in a dendritic pattern," it is recommending that the stream network should be represented as a series of continuous, non-intersecting line segments (arcs) that follow a natural, branching (dendritic) structure. This ensures that the stream data is topologically correct for analysis, where the flow direction and relationships between streams are properly represented."
