Symbol categories different in map viewer vs map viewer classic

Question

Hi All,

We are on ArcGIS Enterprise 11.2 and have observed that when we add a point layer in map viewer classic we see a large number of categories however, when we add the same layer in new map viewer the categories are very limited.

Specifically we are interested in the symbols of utilities.

Attached are the screenshots.

Just wanted to know if it's an expected behavior or some configuration needs to be done from user side.

Any inputs on this would be helpful.

i would suggest not to use Map Viewer Classic at this point as it will retire this year.

We are also on 11.2 and experience the same thing. So I think that is normal behavior. But, you can add your own custom symbols if you need additional symbols.
