Can users capture data using field maps in a web browser

Ordinarily we would author the form in Field Maps Designer and then capture data outside with Field Maps Mobile app, however, it would also be useful to be able to capture data during testing by just using the Field Maps form in a web browser.

In Survey123 the forms can be embedded in a webpage or StoryMap so that data can be captured in the office from a desktop computer. Is the same possible with Field Maps?

I don't think this is possible since Field Maps is designed to be a mobile application.  Since you just need to create new data for testing, it appears that the Field Maps configured form is what I see when adding/updating my layer in the Field Maps web map on a desktop browser.  As I'm sure you know, you could set up a simple Survey123 form to collect new test data quickly.

Alternatively, if you want or need to emulate the mobile app on your desktop - check out https://support.esri.com/en-us/knowledge-base/how-to-install-arcgis-field-maps-on-windows-11-000030715 (but this may be retired in March 2025).
