Projection info lost when transferring files

Question

Hi All,

hope you can help me with this one:

A colleague georeferenced a raster image and it appears without a problem on his computer. After transferring the file to my machine the projection is gone and the image lost all spatial reference. 'Define Projection' does not help either.

How can I solve this?

it's a .png file and I have copied all the .png.aux and .png.ovr files over.

what type of image? sometimes there are extra files associated with them that are also needed.  If is best to re-examine the source location and copy anything with a filename and any extension as well (ie *.tif, *.tfw *.aux *.whatever)
