select the point features in a series manner

How to select the point features in a series way, for example: if a series of point features are present in the line, if I select the points there I need the selection in a desired manner, not a random way. in the below image: if I select all the point features I need selections ordered from 1-6

I have shown here just 6 point features, but i have 500+ features in my map, I need selection in the desired manner, when I select some particular 100 points

You could try selecting the first point, then subsequently holding the shift button whilst selecting the rest of the points in order. The shift button when being held will add anything selected to the existing selection.
