ArcGIS Enterprise 11.0\ Pro 3.0.2: What is the effect of having the “relational” data type configured when publishing with referenced “map image” option?

I couldn’t figure out the effect of having the “relational” data type configured when publishing with referenced “map image” option as per the screenshots below

This means that in case of “map image” option, either referenced or copied, it has nothing to do with Hosting Federated ArcGIS Server and thus nothing will be registered in C:\arcgisdatastore

Map image layers are not stored in the Relational ArcGIS DataStore. The Relational DataStore is for Hosted layers only. Map Image layers are stored within the ArcGIS Server configuration folders.
