Multimodal Network Analyst

Question

I am a university student looking to assess the accessibility of services using public transport/walking.

I understand that I need to build a multimodal network in network analyst to do this but I am wondering what data do I need?

currently I have:

bus stops

train stops

bus routes

train routes

I think for connectivity I am going to need to copy and paste the bus and train stop data so it can connect the two pathways?

also does anyone have any tutorials or workshops that are useful other than the arcgis one as I am very new to the software?

Hi Katie,

unfortunately no. If you don't have GTFS data you cant model transit accessibility. The only thing you can do is to model walkability/drivability by car or cyclability of the area.

the area I'm using doesn't have GTFS data is it still ok for me to continue?

Hi Katie,

you will also need a street network built in a certain way and GTFS data that should allow you to generate train /bus stations and routes.
