ArcGIS Pro Merge divided roads tool- issue with output feature

I am using the "Merge divided roads tool" in arcgis pro but the output does not come as desired.

Where the road makes a 90degree turn, the ouput feature does not have a 90degree turn but rather a curved turn.

Refer the picture. The blue line is the input feature and red is the output feature.

Is there a way that I can get a line through the center of the parallel blue lines ?

Is everything projected OK?

Have you tried Integrate Integrate (Data Management)—ArcGIS Pro | Documentation

(beware this modifies input data - make a copy of it or run in edit mode)

or possibly create a polygon from the lines and run polygon to centreline How To: Create centerlines from polygons in ArcGIS Pro (esri.com)
