Grouping Layers displaying from API

Hi all,

I recently bought some Apis from EA. I am wondering how have they managed to group layers here? Can anyone clarify as I have recently published layers and my understanding was this functionality is not supported.

As far as I know (unsure of version specifics) it's supported if the Map Service is initially published from Desktop with layer groups.
