Issue with file name of uploaded image

Hi,

I am working on a Survey123 form, and I want to have a designated file name an uploaded image. When I use this formula in the XLSX form in the bind::esri::parameters field, fileName=concat(${SVsampid},"_",${Ssampinfo_targetsp},"_", ${collect_date_format}), the desired file name doesn't consistently appear in the web app or mobile app, even when all the required fields are completed. I have been testing this with a captured picture, not a picture selected from the library. Is there a better way to complete this action to ensure more consistency or is this a known issue? I have attached my XLSX form below for assistance. Thanks in advance!

Take a look at the attached form for how I handled getting the replicate names into the image name. I highlighted the relevant rows. I got rid of your "or" in the concat incase that caused issues and used 2 nested if statements to check if one question was blank and if true, to grab the other question's value, if both failed it should return 'Bad Value' to clarify there's a problem. I used a 3rd field using the join() formula in the calculate column to get all the replicate names from the repeat and separate each one with "_".

I tried speed running the testing and copied values from a sent survey rather than reentering and that is where I encountered the issue with the fileName not being respected in the bind::esri:parameters. It does work with everything hidden and new data entered, but if you're copying a sent one, it gives the default file name. I'm guessing that is because with the fields being a "null" type there is nothing for it to copy and without a way to refresh it since it is hidden you can't get the right name. Either that or there's a bug.

Have no idea if this is the issue or not but it is worth a shot. Sometimes spaces make a difference, but you have a space here:

There are some columns in the xlsform where Survey123 doesn't like to do calculations. This is probably one of them.

I added a field above your image question to set the image name, it is set to null so it won't be added as a field in the feature service. You will want to set the appearance to hidden after you confirm it works, so users won't see it. I put your calculation for the name in the calculate column. I then call that field as the fileName. I published it and tested a photo and confirmed it sets the appropriate file name.

This solution seemed to work; however, I had to add the ${Sampinfo_image_name} calculation into the calculation field of the uploaded image field. For some reason, the esri:bind:parameters column didn't like the fileName=${Sampinfo_image_name} as suggested on its own. This solution seems to be working for only one replicate, but in some situations, a user may submit one image for more than one replicate in the same form. This is ok, as this one image would be representative of both the replicates (ex: both replicates were tissues taken from the same individual). When these expressions are applied in the case of having more than one replicate, the file name defaults to the calculation input and does not pull the file name, even when it is correctly listed in the Sampinfo_image_name field (when unhidden). Are you aware of a way to correct this issue, so it populates normally? I have attached below a screenshot as well as my most current XLS form. Thank you for your help thus far!
