Failed to upload. 400: File Type Not Allowed for MP4 Audio Upload

I am trying to create a Survey123 form with an audio question so that users can record a verbal comment from their device instead of spending a bunch of time typing their comment in a text field. When I publish, all good. However, when I try to record and upload the audio file from my iphone suing Survey123 in the Safari browser, it fails to upload with "Failed to upload. 400: Attachment file type (filename.mp4,audio/mp4; codecs=mp4a.40.2) is not allowed. File filename.mp4".

I tried to submit the form via the Survey123 app instead of the web browser and it did work correctly. This appears to be a problem with the web version of Survey123?

How can I make this work? Can I force the device to record in an acceptable format? Can I allow mp4 files for audio? How do I fix it?

I think mp4a is a (predominantly) Apple thing. Have you tried with Chrome/Edge (same thing) or Firefox? May be browser exclusive issue.

Yes, it does work in Chrome. Is there a setting for safari to fix it?

Not that I am aware of. It is all automatic.

I would bring this up as a bug with Esri as it is likely something that they can resolve on their end.

I ran into a second issue with my plan that makes this moot. The purpose of the Survey123 form was going to be to allow Contractors bidding on a project to submit comments using text comments, audio (if they preferred for lengthy explanations), and photos (pictures are worth a thousand words). However, the underlying bid information needs to remain confidential. I thought I could use "Viewer" licenses, but the contractors would still not be able to submit the survey forms to provide us with feedback because they would lack "edit" privilege. I cannot make the Survey123 public because it has confidential data. So I am stuck. This is a separate issue. I will start a different thread on the topic and see if ESRI has any idea.

This is in the Field App help section, but the Web App designer basically says to look at the field app section. It sounds like you might need to specify the codec(s) to use in the bind parameters section.
