I am new to survey 123 and I have been asked if two different surveys can be connected to one another because similar conditions in one will start the other?

Hi Mike,
It is possible to build two surveys on the same feature layer if you want to be able to use data from one survey in another survey. See the Use Survey123 with existing feature layers documentation, and this tutorial also covers an example where one survey is used for an initial assessment and a second survey is used to collect more detailed information. One approach to this kind of workflow would be to configure the surveys so if certain conditions in the first survey are met, a survey will appear in the inbox of the second survey for the user to complete. You could also configure a note question or pop up in the first survey to instruct the user to navigate to and complete the second survey.-Barbara

I want the format of the survey to be exactly the same between the two versions. If I copy one survey to a new one, is there a way after the fact to connect the new survey to the original feature services?
Alternatively, is there a way to use the XML file to format the new survey exactly the same as the first one?

Hi @aclark2_fanshawe,You can set the feature layer the survey submits to with the submission URL column on the settings sheet. See the Author a survey that matches a feature layer documentation to see how to format the URL.Most of the formatting for a survey is controlled in the XLSForm but there are a few customizations (for example, configuring a custom thank you screen) that are set in the Survey123 website and stored with the published survey. If you want to create an exact copy of your survey the easiest way is to select the original survey in New Survey>Organization>Surveys when creating the copy. Once you create the copy you can update the submission URL so it will point to the original feature layer instead of creating a new one when you publish the survey.
