Hello, I am having trouble finding a way to add custom made symbols (probably a .png file) to a point feature class in ArcGIS Pro. Any advice?
Hello @KoryKramer
I have some trouble finding info about this quality choice ? Can you specify some info about when it's best to chose draft, text, or picture ?
Thank you,
Margot
Was that on the maps or the Wordpress pages linking to the maps?
Best,
Tim
Any solution regarding the loss of quality (pixelated) of .png images?
How have you set the Quality? Is it Draft as the default or have you adjusted that?

I could do some testing (trail and error) to see if there is a "best" size to be used, but I think it is better to tag Kory Kramer who might be able to provide us some recommendations.
Hi Xander Bakker
I have done as directed above using a PNG file, but there is a quality loss - the symbol is blurry.
Should any specs be specified for the symbol?
Xander,
Thanks for the tip as I found it useful for creating an railroad symbology for ArcGIS Online feature layers.
1) I used ESRI multi-part existing railroad symbology to fix my need for a railroad , brought it in to gimp, rotated it 90 degrees, saved as a .png24 with a transparent background.
2) I used your method above for a line symbology rather than points and it worked like a champ.
So far in testing other multi-part symbologies with the method above seems to work well.
Many thanks and Best Regards!
Are there any specs on the .PNG file to consider? I'm importing the symbol but appears pixelated and looks too ugly on the map...
