No PopUp Info in Chrome

Hi, Everyone!

I wonder what's happening with my PopUp Windows because suddenly started to fail when I use Chrome browser and it works fine in Brave and IE. Is there something with the new Chrome update? I developed an app with ArcGIS API 3.23.

@FranciscoCastillo1 , this is interesting. We are experiencing pop-up issues with Chrome where the browser zoom scale is set to anything other than 100%.

What version of Chrome are you using?

We have version 89.0.4389.90.

In this specific case, the app is totally developed using the ArcGIS API 3.23 and it's not published through Enterprise. Thank You for your answers and I'm stil wondering what's happening with Chrome in this PopUp issue.

Maybe it is coincidence but I noticed this issue late last week on my PC with my JS3.25 WAB 2.4 Apps after I was upgraded to MS365.

We are on Enterprise 10.8.1.

Maps and popups are no longer clickable in Chrome Version 89.0.4389.90 (Official Build) (64-bit).

Our workaround is directing users to Edge or Firefox. Thankfully both still work.

Almost everything in the app that is off the map is functioning including custom and OTB widgets, zoom, scroll, etc.. Double clicking on the map Zooms in but does not bring up a popup.

The only widget that is not working is Measure which needs the map.
However, EnhancedDraw is working.
I have an untouched back up version of the app and it too is not working either in Chrome.

We have one user who is able to click on the map but the attributes are using the Esri popup rather than opening in the Scheitlin PopUpPanel. I have not been able to reproduce this.

Interestingly, I do not have this issue with any of the JS4 API apps.

This week the issue has spread to others in the organization.

Hi, MikeGarcia. I have realized that in my laptop I can display the attributes of the PopUp and I have the same Chrome version that my PC. What is that? I don't know.

Same here... popup seems to work for some people and not others. Same version of Chrome. Works in Edge, Firefox, even IE. Everything (pan, double click - zoom, etc) works fine... just the popup.

Have you raised an Esri support case yet about this? I am wondering if there is a broader issue about the Chrome update.

Additional Info... issue is also present with apps we built with Web AppBuilder Developer Edition version 2.4 (JSAPI v. 3.20) but works fine with the latest version 2.19 of Web AppBuilder Developer Edition (JSAPI v. 3.35).

Have you checked the zoom scale of the browser? Is it set to anything above 100%?

@ShelleySchott- Yes, popup does not work unless Chrome scale is set at exactly 100%. Again, it's odd because it's only happening on some PC's, but is randomly increasing among users. I have had 6-7 calls today about it from people who said it was working yesterday and had 3-4 calls yesterday from people who said it worked the day before. Clearing the cache does not seem to have an affect one way or the other. I have 2 PC's in my office... popups are working at all Chrome zoom levels on one but only at 100% on the other. Same version of Chrome.

Same problem described above.

With Windows 10 and Chrome 89 identify/popup not working, even if Chrome scale is 100% or not.

We are using webapps with stantard librarie from a local ArcGIS Portal.

Only sometimes (random) click on polygons trigger popup but rarely and not reappear if reclick inside same polygon.

Seems click event not triggered.

With same Chrome version (89) issue is not present on Windows server 2012.

No issues with firefox/Edge, only problems with Chrome 89 + Win10.

Please see the post below. We were experiencing this issue recently as well with any map click event in Chrome - intermittent and only for some users. Upgrading to JSAPI 3.35 solved it for us.

How can we upgrade ArcGIS Portal JS without installing a new version ?

We are having the same issue. Impacts some users not others on this version of chrome. Interestingly it's not limited to ArcGIS. We have a 3rd party application called GeoCortex Essentials. The same thing is happening on that application as well.

This bug appears to occur only when the user's browser scale or Windows display is not set to 100%.

I wouldn't be surprised if GeoCortex Essentials is using the ArcGIS Javascript API 3.30 or older.

In browsing posts about this, I saw posts and tested the browser scale at 100% but that didn't work. However I had missed that about the Windows display needing to be at 100% as well. Just tested it. My Windows display was at 125%. Changed it to 100, and now the pop ups are working.

Yes, this is a problem for ANY applications built with or using the Esri JavaScript API 3.30 or older. This includes any downloaded Esri Templates, Web AppBuilder Developer Edition application, GeoCortex, older versions of Portal?, etc.

We have updated all of our older custom built applications to version 3.35 and it has fixed the problem. We don't want to modify the code for applications that we downloaded or purchased so the issues persist. We are hoping that Esri will fix this for older versions of the API so we can continue to use these applications built on them. @ShelleySchott - any update on this?

Change the zoom in chrome to 90% with the JSAPI version (line 20) to 3.30 and it does not work. Change it to 3.31 (or greater) and it does.

@ShadCampbell there Bug logged in the system which will address this issue for Portal users.

BUG-00013868: User is unable to identify or click on Map Viewer with Google Chrome version 89.0.4389.90 or higher for Portal for ArcGIS 10.7.1 or Portal for ArcGIS 10.8 on some machines.

The recommended workaround is to use Edge or Firefox while we wait for the fix.

This is a bug/experiment with Chrome 89 - https://bugs.chromium.org/p/chromium/issues/detail?id=1192449#c28

The change is only rolled out to some Chrome installations, which is why it works on some machines, but fail on others.
This impacts version 3.10-3.30 of the ArcGIS API for JavaScript.

We are currently working on having Google roll back this breaking change in the Chrome browser, as well as investigating possible alternatives for the API.

@ShadCampbell - this is a Chrome Experimental feature which is something they can turn on/off independently of the Chrome version you have. It's not specifically tied to Chrome 89 or 90.
