Question

When choosing to use a sent record as a copy for a new record, is the Geopoint question still acquiring GPS signal or simply using the saved lat-long from the copied record? If my field tech is not moving for a whole day, I was thinking he could just get an initial record with GPS, then save battery by turning it off, always using the same lat-long

You could put a null in the Default column of the geopoint question. The user would then need to manually open the geopoint question in the form, in order in order to capture a location. Then all surveys copied from that first survey, would inherit the location and would not automatically update.
