Relevance condition deletes previous responses

Hi,

I'm working in ArcGIS Online.

My survey has a question that conditionally shows another question.

E.g. if I answer Yes to question a, then question by should show.

This works; when I answer 'Yes' to question a and I answer '5' to question b, the responses are saved in the database.

But when I edit the survey and change my answer to question a from 'Yes' to 'No', my previous response to question b is wiped from the database.

Is this the intended behaviour?

Yes if a question is not relevant then it gets a "" value and that is by design.  This makes sense since it is not really valid data anymore.

If you want to just hide the question instead you can use the body::esri:visible column instead.  Then it will only hide it but keep the data.  Depending on use case that could be good or bad for your data.
