Hosting ArcGIS Enterprise infrastructure on the cloud

Our organization is planning to have our GIS systems hosted. I want to connect with anybody who had migrated their GIS infrastructure to the cloud so I can ask questions regarding their experience when it comes to challenges of managing and working in GIS after migrating to the cloud.

Hey ferdpura, we have recently migrated our GIS Servers to the cloud and it has definitely had its challenges. I am brand new to this GIS world but just from the IT perspective there are a few things that I just don't care for. We went through a third party to host servers in a AWS environment, so we have an RDP connections to our data. We have to get up with our vendors to retrieve our data, every time we turn around I feel like we have to purchase a license for something new. It hasn't been all bad and like I said I am brand new to this so it could be some things that I am just now learning. I would like to see how others have done on-prem server to cloud migrations as well.
