Hi there,

I'm working on a story that looks great on desktop, but the map tour is all weird on mobile. It's too zoomed out, even though I set the zoom level to 'village' or even 'street'.

Here's what it looks like on mobile:

And on desktop (which is the zoom level I want on mobile as well):

Here's a screenshot of the settings I used. It's in Dutch, but I selected 'custom zoom level' and 'village':

I also tried selecting 'current location - for small devices' in the map configuration setting, but that didn't change anything.

Any tips? Thank you!

Kyra

Hi @KyraK , I think my colleague was able to answer your question in another thread! For those who may run into the same issue, please try the following:

  1. Enter the edit mode of your story by clicking “Edit story”
  2. Go to one of the map tours, click “Edit location” at the bottom of one of the floating cards
  3. In the bottom right corner, find the “Zoom level” configuration box. Check the 2nd button “Use the current zoom level” and verify that the value below it is the level you wanted
  4. Republish the story and view it on your phone

I will note that this issue is specifically occurring on the StoryMaps mobile app, and not in the mobile browser (i.e. Safari). We are tracking this behavior and will let you know if the expected extent changes on our end!
